What age groups are Oxford summer programs for?

Are you or your child ready to attend their summer school in Oxford? Many parents often ask what age groups our summer programs cover, and the answer is always simple. We cover almost every age group. The Oxford Institute runs multiple programs each year that cater to a wide audience. Oxford Summer Programs run for four distinct age groups: juniors aged 12 to 15, teenagers aged 16 to 19, and university-going students aged 19 to 25. Moreover, professionals aged 25 and above are also welcome to attend the Oxford Executive Summer Program.

This blog will take you through the details of everything the Oxford Summer Programs offer to multiple age groups. Moreover, it will highlight the key points you should consider before applying to the program of your choice.

Oxford Summer Programs: What each Age Group has?

In this section, we will provide a detailed overview of the summer programs available to each age group. Moreover, a summary of the eligible programs will help them decide what is best for them.

Juniors-Ages 12 to 15

Students aged 12 to 15 can attend our flagship Oxford Summer Program at St Anne's College, University of Oxford. This 8-day program will take place from 2nd to 9 August (8-day program) and 26 July to 9 August (14-day program) in 2026. It invites students to choose 2 subjects from among almost 30 offerings. One subject is chosen as a major, and the other as a minor.

Our highly trained staff follows the tutorial teaching methodology, where students learn in small groups under expert tutors. This practice gives them an authentic experience through the world of Oxford. The program fee is all-inclusive and around £4,499 (8-day) or £6,999 (14-day).

In addition, students in this age group can attend the Oxford London Summer Program from 20 July to 1 August 2026 for approximately £6,399. This program is ideal for children who wish to experience the academic culture of two of the most famous cities within a single program. The Oxford London program spans two weeks, and students spend their first week at Imperial College London. Here, they get an introduction to the subjects they've chosen and explore the city.

For the second week, they move to Oxford, which offers a calmer yet rigourous academic experience. Students study under a tutorial-style teaching methodology. They also attend lectures and seminars and receive admissions and essay counseling. Moreover, cultural excursions and punting along the River Cherwell are also part of the plan.

Thirdly, the Oxford China Summer Program remains perhaps the most accessible in terms of age, as it is open to students aged 10-17. This year, the program will take place in Malvern College Chengdu, China, from 9th to 18th July 2026. This is an ideal, budget-friendly option (£2,999 all-inclusive) for those who want to experience Chinese culture alongside Oxford-style learning.

Seniors — Ages 16 to 19

This age group comprises students setting goals for their lives and aiming for their dream universities. The Oxford Institute completely acknowledges this fact and therefore makes the program structure useful for them. Our alums have been admitted to top colleges, including Harvard, MIT, and Oxford.

The Oxford Summer Program is open to 16 to 19-year-olds in their senior cohort. The overall academic experience remains the same with Oxford-style teaching, 30+ subjects, an international peer network, and world-class teaching faculty. Moreover, students also enjoy Oxford Union-style debate coaching, essays, and admissions counseling. However, the academic material that this age group engages with is more in-depth.

The Oxford London Summer Program also welcomes this age group. It offers them a much more diverse experience of Imperial College London and St Anne's College, Oxford University. We highly recommend this program to older students who are interested in its breadth rather than its depth. All program features stay almost the same as they were for juniors. However, as in The Oxford Summer Program for older ages, seniors in The Oxford London Summer Program receive more in-depth, advanced academic training.

Moreover, we offer the Oxford Private Mentorship Program for students aged 14 to 19. This program introduces students to Oxbridge tutorial-style teaching. Students who enroll usually do so to prepare for the EPQ, IB Extended Essay, and similar independent research projects. They get one-on-one coaching from experts who often offer an online and flexible structure.

University Students — Ages 19 to 24

The Oxford Institute also serves university-bound students aged 19 to 24. These students are either undergraduates applying to graduate schools or stepping into the professional world.

The Oxford Summer Program extends to this age group by allowing university students to attend the program and deepen their knowledge of chosen subjects. All other key features are consistent across the program.

The Oxford London Summer Program is also open to this age group and offers greater academic exposure. This single residential experience offers an opportunity to study in two world-class institutes.

Executive Professionals — Ages 28 and Above

The Oxford Summer Programs do not limit themselves to students alone. Our Executive Leadership program invites entrepreneurs, business leaders, top CEOs, industry experts, and policymakers from all over the globe.

Priced around £7,999, the Oxford Executive Program has a history of training professionals to improve their communication and leadership skills. The core modules of this program include Personal Leadership Development, Design Thinking and Innovation, Executive Leadership, Finance Leadership, and Digital Transformation using AI Ethics and Cybersecurity.

Moreover, it is worth noting that this program is highly selective, accepting only 15 participants per cohort. The 8-day intensive program offers sessions delivered by Oxford professionals and industry experts.

Our alum network spans almost 20 countries, including the USA, Japan, Nigeria, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.

Are the Oxford Summer Programs safe for young teenagers?

Parents who are sending their teenagers away from home to another city or country for the first time prioritize safety. Therefore, we at The Oxford Institute often have to reassure them about the safety and supervision throughout the program.

The Oxford Institute has been hosting students for almost 2 decades, and we haven't faced any serious security issues to date. We have a 100% safety record, which is rooted in how we conduct our programs.

Each student is overseen by a residential dean who looks after the student's well-being during their time here. However, don't imagine this to be exactly how dorm life works. In our program, a low residential dean-to-student ratio ensures your child doesn't face any difficulties. From picking up students from the airport and bringing them to their residential dorm to dropping them off for a final goodbye, The Oxford Institute takes care of everything.

All Oxford Summer Programs keep different age groups in mind and offer security and supervision for all.
